Last weekend, we were able to host a wonderful fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Our Relay for Life team put on a dinner that was absolutely amazing. I'm sure I'm a little bias in this area being that it I'm the chair of this function. However, I have been told by a number of people how the dinner has truly touched them. There were a number of speakers and models who were able to share their experiences. Each had their own life changing story which brought tears to many, myself included. If you were unable to attend the dinner, you truly missed something special. Save the middle of March next year, because we'll be doing it again.

Dinner of Hope
This is our second year hosting a "big" fundraiser. Well, big for our team. Last year, we raised slightly over $1400 with Divalicious, our women's only event. I was amazed to see how many men wanted to attend last year, so we opened it up to both men and women this year. They wanted to attend to support their spouse or loved on in the Cancer Survivor Fashion Show. Or, to support the cause because they had a loved one die from cancer. With the need to change our fundraiser, we had a need to change the name. Dinner of Hope stands for a number things. Hope, to me, means that one day, my daughter will not see the amount of cancer I have seen in my life time. It means funding the needed research in hopes that there will be a cure for cancer, so many lives can be extended to spend time with their own loved ones. It means bringing the much needed support to the Wenatchee Valley patients currently in treatment.
