Father's Day FUN RUN
JOIN US TO WALK OR RUN AND FIGHT CANCER! This is a family friendly event geared towards runners/walkers of all abilities and ages. All proceeds benefit our team Mad Hatters efforts in raising funds for the Relay for Life ~ American Cancer Society. Come join in the fun!
Start Time: Onsite registration and check-in begins at 9:00am. All three races will start at 10:00am. Please be checked-in and ready to go by 9:45am.
Start and Finish Lines: The race will start and finish in the same location, on the lawn between the Riverfront Center Building and the Wenatchee Riverfront Railway.
Packet Pickup: Packet pick-up will only be available on race day. You will be able to pick it up on race day between 9:00am-9:45am.
Online Registration: Register online, TODAY, at Active.com.
In-person Registration: Please email MadHattersRelay@gmail.com to register via email or in person.
T-Shirts: T-shirts will be available, and are included in the entry price, if you register prior to June 1, 2014. After that registration, receiving a t-shirt is not guaranteed.
Parking: Parking will be available at the Riverfront parking lot, along Riverside Drive, and the small parking lot next the Wenatchee Riverfront Railway off of Worthen Street. You may also be able to park downtown and cross the pedestrian bridge accessible from 1st Street next to the Performing Arts Center fountain.
Aid Stations: We will provide two aid stations along the 5K and 10K routes. One will be located in Walla Walla Park near the bathrooms while the other will be in Confluence State Park near the bathrooms. Each station will be supplied with water, energy drink, and a small first aid kit. There will also be a minimum of two bikers riding the route to assist with any needs. A First Aid station will be provided near the finish line.
Trash: There will be trash cans along the routes, please leave no trace of your trash.
Views and Features: During your run, you will be running on the beautiful Apple Capital Loop Trail, yards away from the flowing Columbia River. This is a paved trail offering views of both the river, the beautiful hillsides of the Wenatchee Foothills and the North Cascade Mountain Range.
Course Notes: The Apple Capital Loop Trail is open to walkers, runners, and bikers. Please be aware of pedestrians of all sizes on all modes of transportation. Your trip will be safer and more enjoyable if you follow the trail etiquette rules. http://chelanpud.org/trail-etiquette.html
Post-Race Food: A light snack and refreshments will be provided at the end of the race.
SPECIAL NOTES: This is Father's Day weekend, so make it special. Plan a date with Dad; run or walk with him by your side. Run in his memory. Dress like him. BONUS: Best Father's Day costume wins a prize!!!!
